Arendalsuka: “Vendepunkt” for rights? Norway’s response to the global crisis for adolescents SRHR

aug
Clarion hotel Tyholmen, Arendal -

The International Network for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights asks: Around the world, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are under growing pressure, what is the Norwegian response?

Around the world, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are under growing pressure. Adolescents and youth are among those most affected — through reduced access to healthcare, shrinking civic space, and attacks on bodily autonomy and gender equality. At the same time, Norway is shaping the future direction of its development policy through the ongoing “Vendepunkt” process.

This event brings adolescents and youth from Norway and partner countries into direct dialogue with the Minister of International Development on how Norway should respond to the global rights crisis, and what role adolescent SRHR should play in Norwegian development policy going forward.

The conversation will combine interventions from adolescent/youth speakers bringing forward urgent challenges and initiatives with a political dialogue on rights, priorities and Norway’s global leadership on SRHR and gender equality in a more challenging international context.
